5 Things to know about ground screws
The ground screw has been widely used in larger-scale construction outside the United States for more than a decade, but it’s relatively new to the U.S. market. We are proud to install and supply ICC certified ground screws manufactured by American Ground Screw (AGS).
Here are 5 things you need to know about the ground screw:
The conical design of a ground screw modifies & creates displacement & compaction of soil during the installation.
A continuous, welded thread on the ground screw creates the torque.
With a ground screw, compression capacity is reached at shallower depths than a helical pier.
AGS obtained the first ICC-certified ground screw foundation product in the U.S. in 2020. (This means that ground screws are accepted in any county or municipality that recognizes the 2018 International Building Code.)
